Éltex wins award for its contribution to protecting the environment
Éltex and one of its key partners won a prestigious award this month, from a national association which encourages the development of sustainable businesses.
The Hungarian KÖVET Association for Sustainable Economies has organised their “Throwing money in the window” programme annually for the last eleven years. The programme aims to reward companies for their achievements in ensuring long-term survival through environmentally-friendly and resource-saving operations.
Duna-Dráva Cement Kft. and Éltex Kft. received an award for the results of an energy recovery project. The aim of the joint project was to reduce landfill waste by reusing non-recyclable material for energy-recovery purposes in cement manufacturing. The refuse-derived fuel replaces petroleum coke use, reduces carbon dioxide emissions and helps to protect the environment by ensuring sustainable growth.
Deputy State Secretary from the Ministry of National Development Zoltán Ajtony Hevesi presented the award to Szarkándi János, President and Managing Director of Duna-Dráva Cement Kft. and Vass Zoltán, owner and Managing Director of Éltex Kft. at a ceremony in Budapest earlier this month.
